2023-09-24 CCP Winter Series Race 6 and 30kms

CCP 30km Marathon – Van Stappen Trophy, Wyong River.
24 th September 2023 Start/Finish – Lions Park, 1 Panonia Road, Wyong.
30km Entries to centralcoastpaddlers@gmail.com by Tuesday 19 th September.
Your email and phone number please, and Emergency Contact name and number.
As all races are Handicapped, visitors are asked to supply two recent race results
and their estimated elapsed time for the relevant distance, with craft and colour.
Lifejackets to be worn.
Entry Fees are $10 – payable on the day.
Two SLSC IRB Safety Craft will be on the River.
Competitor/s with the Fastest Time, are eligible to have their name/s inscribed on the
Van Stappen Trophy – begun 1974.
Winning Competitors in Single Craft (male, female, CCP Members, Visitors) are
eligible to have their name inscribed on the Handicapper’s Trophy – begun 2014.
30km starts from 8:00am, for theoretical Finish Time of 11:30am.  Race Co-ordinator
and Safety, Nick Naughton.
The 30km distance is achieved by proceeding downstream, to the RED Navigation
POLE, near the mouth of Wyong River, turn anti clockwise,
returning upstream, to turn anticlockwise at a small (15l) yellow buoy, 80 metres
downstream of the Start, (at Lions Park),
proceeding again to the RED POLE, turn anti clockwise,
returning to turn anti clockwise at the small yellow buoy, near Lions Park,
proceeding to the very large, yellow, Council Water Testing Buoy (similar to Buoy in
photo on facebook) at the big bend at Tacoma, turn anti clockwise,
returning to Finish at the small Blue Buoy at Lions Park.
Club Races start from 9:00am. Entry Fees – Members $4, Visitors – $5, by 23rd.
Refreshments supplied. Lucky Prizes (sweets) draw. There is a convenience Store in
Warner Avenue – 500m north.
Limited parking western end of the Park, main parking area eastern end of the Park.
Wyong Bowling Club, for meals, etc, is next door to parking at Lions Park.
