Welcome To Central Coast Paddlers
The Club was established in 1962 as the Central Coast Canoe Club and in 2017 changed its name to Central Coast Paddlers to better represent the members and the diversity of craft that are used in paddle sports today. The members enjoy a regular program of flatwater races and recreational paddles throughout the year.
Races are held on the Wyong River based out of the Lions Park on Panonia Road, Wyong and races are based on handicaps to ensure competitive racing for all levels of paddlers. The schedule for Sunday morning races includes races of 7.5km, 11.35km or 15km races, and during daylight saving, there is a Wednesday evening 7.5km time trial which is also handicapped. In the month leading up to the 110km Hawkesbury Classic, the club runs a 30km race to assist paddlers with preparation for the big race.
Recreational paddles are often organised amongst the members in suitable locations other than on the Wyong River.
The members of CCP have extensive experience in all aspects of kayaking and are always willing to share their knowledge of craft, equipment and paddling technique for newcomers to the sport.
We welcome members from other clubs as well as non-members who are interested in trying the sport of kayak racing and while most of our members paddle kayaks and skis, we welcome paddlers of other paddle craft such as SUPs, outrigger canoes etc.
