Results from Summer Series Race 5, 28th April 2019
Today, we enjoyed a beautiful day, with a light wind assisting us on our way downstream.
New Member, Nathan Podlich, who has shown promise in our Wednesday evening Time Trials, tried out over 11.35km for the first time – with very pleasing results!
Mick Carroll was close behind, but had to improve his previous times by over a minute, to do it! Congratulations Mick! He just held out Aidan Shipton, on the line.
Gina Weekes also produced a PB, by 29 seconds! Congratulations Gina!
Cam Mehmet finished 5th, with Warwick Nichols scoring a PB by 20 seconds – congratulations Warwick!
Dave Spencer is resuming paddling after a break of about five years, and comfortably completed the distance today in a good time. He was a Member of CCCC last century!
Sally Verheul is a frequent visitor from Hunter Valley Paddlesports Club, and a reliably consistent performer – finishing 2 seconds from estimated finish time today.
Rob McPherson paddled “against Doctors orders” today (his peers), but still did well.
Another Member from the past, Peter McGee visited today – paddling a K1, no less!
