Results for Summer Race 4, 15th April 2018

The weather was fine, and not too hot, due to a brisk wind, which I did not predict!

Though no-one was worried by the sometimes gusty conditions, some performances were naturally affected.

“Paddle of the day”, and possibly best “single” 11.35km time recorded, was HVPC Member, Lachlan Blakewell – 51:45! His time was within seconds of Aidan Shipton and Dale Ponsford’s K2 time, six years ago! We are looking forward to seeing him improve his time, under calmer conditions!

The finish was sensational, with Warwick Nichols & Shane Tagg finishing nine seconds later, Cam Tunbridge & Gene Burns four seconds after, and Aidan Shipton one second behind them!

Then came Ray Weekes, Alby Cobb, Max Lyons, Anne Moore, Marg & Rob Cook, and Gina Weekes.

I would like to thank Lachlan, and Cam, for accurate predictions of their speeds, today! Helped to set up a great finish! Enjoyed by spectators and competitors, alike!

HVPC’s Brian Dale was first back in the 7.5km section, with an improved time from his last effort. First Member, was Lew Zaska with possibly another “best ever” time of 39:58! Followed by Nick Naughton, Clive Adams, Owen Walton, James Sealy, John Wood, and Ross Fraser.

Thank you HVPC Visitors; also our Timekeepers – Diana and Margaret, and everyone who helped produce a very enjoyable day!

See you next time?

Regards,

Nick.
