2026-04-12 CCP Summer Series Race 06
Hi Members and Friends,
I hope Mr. Albanese won’t mind us using fuel to attend the race today! I hope he will see the health and wellbeing benefits we receive in these very troublesome times.
Rob improved his time, despite the conditions being equally as difficult as last race, with an opposing wind most of the way home. The Handicapper dropped 11 seconds – but content. Veteran paddler, Russell, took on an inexperienced, (in K2), but enthusiastic and quickly “gaining attention” partner – Alan – who is an experienced multi-sport athlete. Max paddled a Scorpion – an older TK1, while his faster Flash is being repaired, and finished ahead of handicap. David also finished ahead of handicap time, despite not having recovered from travel sickness. John would not be dissatisfied – only a few seconds “late.” Noel would have finished earlier, had he not missed the start! Cam will benefit from the “hit out” – his first this year. Everyone enjoyed the “goodies,” and “chin wag” afterwards.
Thank you Diana and Margaret, and all who helped “pack up!” David and Russell won the Lucky Prizes. Our Paddlers at the Nationals in Canberra, had a windy time of it, with Marnie picking up a silver, and Sue a bronze, I hear! Well done ! Apologies if I have missed anyone! Regards, Nick.
