2026-03-01 CCP Summer Series Race 03

Hi Members and Friends,

The weather didn’t quite meet expectations, but it was OK for racing, and cleared for a cuppa. We welcomed six Visitors today – old friends or Members. Marnie and Sue have been saving “themselves up,” and produced a significant PB in the double ski ! John surprised the Handicapper, in a Mirage today, replacing the hand made racer he usually paddles. Malcolm had his best time this year, with Trent fourth. Russell, the “brown fox,” kept in front of the Handicapper for the last 3.8km, finishing a second in front. Visitor Jenny is training for State Nationals on Lake Burley Griffin, and showed plenty of courage, which should reward her in Canberra. Alan was consistent, as were Visitors Andrew and Gil, Members Marg & Rob. Visitor Lee paddled to his accurate “self suggested” handicap, as did Murray and Aidan. Max was around his usual time, as was Kent and Mick. Ken used all his energy in the first leg, giving me the incentive to “keep going” – thanks Ken! Trevor was handicapped on the basis of paddling a K1 – sorry Trevor! “Photographer” Clive took some photos, which he is putting on our website – thanks Clive! Thank you Timekeepers Margaret and Diana, who initially had to brave the rain! And thank you also to the helpers in “cleaning up!”
