2024-10-13 CCP Winter Series Race 07

Hi Members and Friends,
Good day for racing, with half a drizzle!

David surprised the Handicapper with “1yr PB!” (and himself?)
Promising young BWP Paddler – Daniel – exceeded his own expectations, with a 12.14 kph trip – his first at Wyong! (good track, eh!)
Ken snared his fastest time ever, in the Flyer!
President Ray, and Committeeman Andrew, had a fast trip in the K2 – their first!
Mick’s time was better than this time last year!
Murray, and Lee, both from BWP, nearly caught Mick!
Allan appreciated the calm conditions in his C1, and Kent was able to produce the same speed over the longer course.
V. President Rob shrugged off a shoulder strain to finish ahead of handicap time.
The rest of the field finished around handicap time.

We were relieved to learn, from Ray, that the “Red Pole” Channell Marker near the mouth, had been replaced, saving him the job of placing a turning buoy there, for us, this morning! Thanks Ray – we are glad that you didn’t have to get wet, first thing!

Thank you to Diana and Margaret, for the timekeeping and refreshments, and also to Kent – adding some homemade goodies – scrumptious!

Lucky Prizes were won by Malcolm and Clive.
