Results from Winter Series Race 8, 5th November 2017

We did get the welcome rain today, at times, but it did not dampen our enthusiasm.

A “typo” by the Handicapper, had Andrew Kucyper starting too early, but he deserved his win in the 7.5km section, equalling his recent form, despite completing his 10th Hawkesbury Classic last week. Congratulations Andrew, and all who competed in the 111km Marathon.

Somewhat surprisingly, all the HCC competitors did very well, here, today!

Marg and Rob Cook took full advantage of returning to their SLR2, following their successful HCC “campaign” in the Club TK2. Alby Cobb, with fellow BWP Member Geoff Dawes, also triumphed in their HCC class, as did Mick Carroll. Congratulations all! Alby did one of his best 11.35kms today, with a one and a half year PB.

Ray Weekes returned a PB in the cool, wet conditions – well done Ray!

With no recent training (O/S),  Steve Hill surprised himself with an excellent time today, just holding out Ross Fraser in his gleaming new Grafton Paddlesports “Bettong” K1. Max Lyons finished just ahead of handicap time, with Jim Buckland and the “lightly raced” Anne Cowper combining well in the K2. Peter Nickless, and the handicapper, completed the field.

We plan to have our Presentation at the Wyong Bowling Club, 11:00am, followed by Lunch, for those Members who confirm their intentions.

As some Members will be away, the date will be the most favoured one, by Members, choosing between 19th November, and 26th November.

Please let the Secretary know which Sunday, of the two, you will attend – asap!

The “End of Year Paddle” will be in December – date yet to be decided.
