CCCC Winter Series Race 2 Results

Yep – a lovely winter’s day on beautiful Wyong River, with good paddling conditions!
The two “speedsters” from Avoca Kayak Club “showed us their heels” with almost record times today – Rob McIntyre and Paul Stone! Congratulations!
Member, Anne Moore, returning to form, was the first Member to greet the Timekeepers, Diana and Margaret – thank you Ladies!
Ross Fraser showed his true form when not “burdened” by his regular doubles partner.
Despite a lovely sojourn to the Land of the Long White Cloud, Heidi Duncan still produced a good performance , for her third place!
Visiting Newy Paddler – Ian Davey – is on track to recover his previous form.
Our David Hopkins, and Shannon Hile, are both consistent competitors. The “multi sport” duo – Marg and Rob Cook – are now turning their attention to their HCC campaign, with improving times.
Mick Carroll is getting back to his best form, and after a late start today, Ray Weekes is near his PB – as is his better half – Gina!
Avoca Kayak Club mentor – Scott Cunningham – is leading by example, and is himself getting near his PB of a few years ago!
Newy couple – Mark and Cheryl Bretag – felt the effect of missed time in their appropriately named Zero Tolerance!
My “old sparring partner” – Jim Buckland – and I were not at our best today!
We expect  good talent to emerge from those in the 7.5km section today!
President Steve drew three Lucky Prizes today, the major Prize being a $50 voucher from Kayak Sports and Hire Pty Ltd – Clarence Hines has his website almost finished!
AKC President, Paul Hutchinson, invited us to their Sprint (& fun) Day on 2oth August.
Owen Walton observed the attraction of competing in the 10km Lake Macquarie Winterfest on the 6th August.
