CCCC Summer Race 8, 11th June 2017

A favourable change in the weather produced a great day for racing!

Though the water was discoloured, and running at nearly one and a half kilometres an hour – which usually means slower times – most Paddlers were very close, or better, than recent performances!

I have included the Pointscore Totals for Members’ Best Seven Races in the Summer Series – with the caveat that the figures have to be thoroughly checked! Congratulations to the apparent Placegetters!  Full results can be found here.

PBs from Mark and Cheryl Bretag from Newy Paddlers and from Scott Cunningham, Paul & Rory Hutchinson, and Lochlan Jonquires, all from Avoca Kayak Club – congratulations!

Our fastest member was Cam Tunbridge – 58:06 – which was only a few seconds outside his PB.

Hope to see you at the Bowling Club for the AGM, 11:30am, following Winter Series Race 1. We’ll have some drinks and nibblies, then get down to business!

The Bistro will be open from 12:00, so you can get a nice, reasonably priced meal, after the Meeting!

Paddle Australia (also via PaddleNSW or our website) is taking Membership Fees – $105 – for their Registration ($80), and CCCC Membership ($25), online – due this month.

If you have any problem with the CCCC payment, you can see Treasurer Anne on a Race Day.

In addition to our usual two Lucky Prizes, won by Clive Adams and Mick Carroll, Shannon Hile won a $30 Voucher toward Paddle gear – courtesy Clarence Hines – thanks Clarence. There will be another similar Prize next Race, with a $50 Voucher to be awarded for the Paddler who exceeds their existing PB by the largest amount, or failing such achievement, the Paddler who gets closest to their PB.

Photos from the days race can be found here and coming soon is a new video site with clips from various CCCC races.

Thanks “Office Ladies” – Anne, Diana & Margaret – for a big job today!

And all who helped out with the “chores”

 Keep warm!

Regards,

Nick.
