CCCC Summer Race 2, 19th February 2017

A big welcome to the contingent of Newy Paddlers who visited today! Most visiting here for the first time – some having their first race!
I’m confident that they enjoyed, and appreciated, the excellent racing conditions provided by Wyong River.
Most notable of their Paddlers were the crew of the Fenn Double, who were just “having a training run!” They will be worth watching next Saturday at Canberra, when they “have a go!”  Damn good effort, Charley and Guy! Of those I had seen “in action” before, Ian Davey was the “stand out  improver!”
The “goodies” provided by “Newy Catering Group” augmented our “Post Race Spread,” and was much appreciated!
A CCCC Member, and a Visitor, each won a Lucky Prize, drawn by the incorruptable Newy Paddlers Secretary – excellent result Mark!
Thank you to all who helped with the “chores” today, and a Special “Thank You” to our Timekeepers (and acting Treasurers today), Margaret and Diana!
Owen gave us a “run down” on the Lake Macquarie Paddlefest, which is on an unfortunate date – 26th February – but sounds like a good event, if you are not otherwise booked.
For those going to CANBERRA for the PNSW State Marathon Championship next Saturday – remember the 41st BURLEY GRIFFIN BASH is on the next day! Helen Tongway would love to see you there!
Regards,
Nick.
ps. before you lodge a protest regarding the improved performance of the Mac 2 Paddlers – they improved their speed on their 7.5km Time Trial, last Wednesday!
